Website Administration & Cybersecurity

This service is for existing websites. I do not offer new website design or full website build services as part of website administration or cybersecurity.

If your website is important to your business or organization, you need more than quick fixes and “try this plugin” advice. I provide professional website support for WordPress and custom-built sites, with a strong focus on stability, performance, and security.

What I Can Help With

I handle real-world website problems, including broken layouts, plugin and theme conflicts, server errors, hacked sites, slow performance, failed updates, database issues, and anything that turns into a headache at 1:00 AM.

For custom (non-CMS) websites, I work directly in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP to correct bugs, add features, and improve performance.

For WordPress sites, I troubleshoot update issues, fix theme and plugin problems, clean up security messes, and build custom functionality when off-the-shelf solutions are not good enough.

Common Services

Speed and Core Web Vitals improvements, security audits and hardening, malware cleanup, database tuning, API integrations, backup and recovery setup, server monitoring, migrations, SSL issues, email deliverability problems, and general site maintenance.

How I Work

I start by reviewing your site and the problem you are facing. If it is something I can take on, I will send back a plan with an estimate. If you need ongoing help, I can also work on a retainer so you have someone responsible for the technical side.

Pricing

My services are priced as professional consulting, not general freelance work. I work with websites and systems that are business-critical, security-sensitive, or require long-term technical responsibility.

  • General website administration, custom development, and system administration are billed at $125 – $175 per hour, depending on scope and complexity.
  • Cybersecurity work, incident response, forensic analysis, and emergency troubleshooting are billed at $175 – $250 per hour, depending on urgency and risk.

All work is subject to a minimum engagement of 2 – 4 hours, depending on scope. I do not offer unpaid diagnostics, “quick looks,” or speculative troubleshooting. If I am reviewing your site, investigating an issue, or accessing your server, that time is billable.

For clients who need ongoing oversight, monitoring, or availability, I offer monthly retainers. These are ideal for business-critical sites, custom systems, or environments where downtime and security issues are not acceptable.

Typical retainer ranges:

  • $500 – $750 per month for a single site or small environment, including maintenance, updates, backups, and light development.
  • $1,000 – $2,000 per month for business-critical websites or custom systems, including proactive monitoring, security oversight, and priority response.
  • $2,500+ per month for high-traffic or complex infrastructures with multiple servers, advanced security needs, and on-call availability.

Retainers are limited and offered only when I can provide proper attention and accountability.

I do not compete on price. I work with clients who value reliability, security, uptime, and long-term accountability.
